Identifying and managing the effects of coastal and offshore developments upon cultural heritage has gradually become a standard requirement within the UK over the past 15 years. Cotswold Archaeology is now able to provide the full range of marine heritage consultancy services to clients, curators and government, with in-house experience of working for most of the offshore development and heritage sectors, including:

  • Renewable energy generation (wind, wave and tidal)
  • Marine aggregates
  • Port and marina developments (including capital dredging)
  • Linear schemes (pipelines and cable routes)
  • Flood and coastal defence schemes
  • Strategic studies
  • Heritage research and management.

Drawing on the existing expertise within our Consultancy team, we are able to adopt a seamless approach to cultural heritage assessment that incorporates both terrestrial and marine aspects of a development. This incorporates the full range of projects, from national strategic studies to small-scale marina developments, and covers most of the sea areas and coasts of the UK.
