We currently employ around 70 permanent staff across our office bases in Cirencester and Milton Keynes, supplemented by up to 40 additional employees on fixed term contracts at busy periods or for specific projects. The average length of service is just under 5 years, and over a third of our staff have been with us for more than 5 years.
The majority of our staff are professional archaeologists, working in a variety of roles including Research and Consultancy, Fieldwork, Survey and Geomatics, Post-Excavation Analysis and Publication (including finds and environmental specialists) and Project Management. Each role requires a unique set of specific skills and experience in addition to a broad understanding of, and enthusiasm for, British Archaeology of all periods.
We also have a small Operational Support Department providing the functions of Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and Logistics.
As we operate within a commercial marketplace delivering a service to clients within both the public and private sectors, every member of our teams is expected to work to agreed targets, objectives and deadlines, and to continuously seek ways to improve individual and company performance.
